Sarah Lugg’s The Handcrafted Wedding: Special Touches for the Perfect Day
This book has the cool, vintage-y vibe that makes me want to cartwheel. It’s beautifully photographed so, don’t worry, there’s something for you even if you wouldn’t dream of making anything – ever.
Inspired by her own wedding, this Victoria magazine alum creates projects for three wedding styles: country lanes, antique whites and color brights. Many of the projects would work perfectly at your next dinner party, providing you have a month to prepare.
Kidding aside - I would love to make the country lanes name place settings - little pots planted with herbs sporting wired ribbon name banners. Also the decorated flower girl shoes. This makes me wonder - i am i too big for flower girl shoes?
Her ideas seem easy to make but still look chic and creative. My big question: where does she find all the neat bits she uses as ingredients – perfectly aged planters, antique garden markers, 50-year-old post cards? I dunno. Not in my neighborhood.
Sarah – tell us where you shop!
P.S. I looked around for Sarah online and I couldn't find her anywhere. She turned up in some old Somerset publications but does she blog? Please leave a note if you find her.
